Join DRiNKLiNK as we support the UN’s ‘Orange the World:
Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect!’
The 16 Days of Activism is an annual UN campaign created to raise awareness of gender-based violence against women and how to end it. It begins on the 25th November to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to 10th December, Human Rights Day.
DRiNKLiNK recognises that abuse is often experienced by individuals whose loved ones suffer from alcohol-related issues. Especially this year, with the world retreating inside homes due to COVID-19, reports have shown an alarming increase in the already widespread violence towards women and intensified key risk factors for violence against women and girls (WAWG) such as food shortages, unemployment, economic insecurity and school closures. We are taking part in the 16 Days of Activism campaign and raise awareness of this problem.
We will share helpful information on our social media pages and our website and give a voice to survivors. Stay tuned for the following 16 days and help us spread the word!
